478 Albert Street Ground Floor Expansion & Cafe

Ground floor expansion and rebuild of existing 7-storey East Melbourne office building. The project included demolition of the existing ground floor café tenancy and construction of a new 2-storey atrium at the front of the building facing Albert Street. The proposed new atrium to enclose the existing undercroft area and to be fitted out as a new, expanded ground floor foyer and venue space including café at the rear.

 

Building services works included the augmentation and reconfiguration of existing electricity metering and power supply distribution, cold water, trade waste and sewer drainage reticulations, hydrant and sprinkler booster assembly, sprinkler reticulation, additional wall wetting system, occupant warning system, data/voice distribution, general fresh-air ventilation, exhaust air extraction and air-conditioning systems, general lighting and power reticulations, multi-zoned digital addressable lighting control system, addressable multi-screen video-wall, security services including intruder alarm, CCTV and access control services.

 

Vargaconsult provided all building services consulting engineering services for the project, including mechanical, electrical, communications, security, fire safety and hydraulics services.
